Logun Shull perfect in the pocket in Cabell Midland’s 48-0 victory over Capital
MSAC matchup in the capital city. As the Capital Cougars host Cabell Midland. Coach Turan Rush’s first home game for his alma mater.
With the win, Cabell Midland starts the season 2-0 as the Capital Cougars start 0-2 heading into an early-season bye week.
Cabell Midland took an early advantage against Capital and never looked back. After an opening three-and-out for the Cougars, it only took two plays for Cabell Midland to find the end zone after a 17-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Logan Shull to Carson Christian. Cabell Midland would quickly follow that up with another touchdown pass by Logan Shull. This time to senior Andrew Lafon for 16 yards. Second touchdown for the Knights with just three and a half minutes into the game.

On the ensuing drive for Capital, they leaned on running back Tony Rush Jr., rushing the ball several times and picking up a couple first downs. The drive was thwarted when freshman quarterback Davion Sloan's pass was intercepted.
Cabell Midland would tack on two more touchdowns in the first half. Andrew Lafon would run it in from 3 yards out for his second touchdown of the game. Keian Shelton would take a screen pass from Logan Shull 67 yards.
Logan Shull had 3 passing touchdowns in the first half. Cabell Midland would lead 28-0 at half.
Quick strike for the Knights to start the second half. Cabell Midland would score on their opening drive with a 37-yard pass from Logan Shull to Rajan Thompson. Carson Christian would score his touchdown of the game; this time on the ground for 32 yards.
A running clock was instituted after Cabell Midland went up 42-0 in the third quarter. Cabell. Thompson’s punt return would put the Knights up 48-0. That would be the final score.

But I don't think I'll have any trouble keeping her focused this week.”

After a 0-2, Capital will have a bye week as they prepare to take on St. Albans at home on September 18th.
Cabell Midland’s Logan Shull went 9-for-9 for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns. Also with six carries for 1010 yards. Mason rushed for 77 yards on 11 carries for the Knights—Keian Shelton had 2 receptions for 68 yards.
