How are you feeling about your team so far?** · *Well, they've been practicing hard. I like the team. I like our effort. I like what we've been doing. But we'll find out tomorrow when we get to go get somebody else. And it'll be some pretty stiff competition. So, we'll get we'll get a lot of questions answered, and we'll probably have some more questions to be answered after it's over with.* **So far through camp, who has stood out as the leader?** · *Oh, James Pain for sure. James is the he's he's the leader. He's the, he's the guy that keeps the keeps us all glued together.* *And the kids follow me. Well, he's doing the doing a real good job being a senior leader , for sure.* **How do you take a bit of pressure off of your sophomore running back Jayden Black?** · *Well, I hope some other guys pick up the slack. Our idea is to take some weight off of him and not not be so one dimensional as we were last year. So we're hoping our quarterbacks to carry the ball a bit, and we're hoping we can get the ball out in the air a little bit…. that’s what we're really working on right now. And we know we e figure we can run the football pretty well. And we just don't want to have to do that all the time. But if we do, we do. We're going to do what we what we need to do and what we can do. But we're we're definitely trying to get the ball in some other people's. Faces and make us a little bit harder to defend like that.* **What’s the progress with the quarterback competition?** · I*t's the two guys are in the running for it. I mean, they're the guys that are going probably be doing it. The Sean is Bell and Tavon Woods. They're the two guys. They're going to be pulling the trigger. So and they're both be on the field at some point in time because they're two of the 11 best guys we got. o they got to play. So whether at the quarterback or wherever they're at, going to be involved. In the total team effort and trying to get wins.* **What’s been the energy from your players these first two weeks?** · Well, yeah they're excited. It's kind of toned down a little bit as it goes along. You get to the point where their bodies real happy at the beginning of the practice, at the beginning of the season starts, then by Wednesday a little bit tired and now you're just trying to survive. But since we got a scrimmage game coming up tomorrow, the intensity levels coming up a little bit and they're starting to get ready. **How excited are you to just see the first action tomorrow?** · Well, I am excited. I'm really excited. I'm anxious. I just get as nervous as I did the first time I ever did it. So I just want us to do well. I want the kids to do well. I want to stay as healthy as we can and get a lot of stuff accomplished if we can do it. So, you know, I just hope it's a good day and it's just something that something that we come out with a lot of positives. ### **The Takeaway** · After a quarterfinal exit in last year’s postseason, Edwards and the Patriots are looking to establish a new offensive identity—one designed to bring more versatility to the attack and keep opposing defenses from keying in on a one-dimensional approach.
